Originally from Ireland, Dara Coleman is a graduate of the William Esper Studio in New York City. He is an experienced actor with a demonstrated history of working in the performing arts industry, including the Theatre, Television and Film. After a car crash in 2012, through recovery he started researching meditation and various breathing methods. Exploring Transcendental Meditation, Pranayama, the Wim Hof Method and Stan Grof’s Holotropic Breathing Method, he began to understand the extraordinary power of the breath. At that time certified training was quite limited but eventually he found the Buteyko Method and was taught by Patrick McKeown of The Buteyko Clinic International, Galway, Ireland. With a keen interest also in Yogic practices, he added certification in Pranayama through Michaël Bijker of Yogalap (Yoga Alliance), Sagres, Portugal.

Through working with people from all walks of life, from musicians, to actors, to police, parents and business folk, all have helped to bring a heightened awareness that human beings often can have very different needs. With discipline and commitment, Coleman works with a holistic approach, paying attention to the 24 hour routine of Sleep, Diet and Exercise. He combines both the Buteyko Method and Pranayama and aims to adapt the breathing techniques and patterns that suit the need of each person he works with. From children to adults, couples and small groups, clients come mostly through referral.

He is interested in trying to help people with many conditions such as PTSD, ADHD, trauma, panic, mania and anxiety, stress and insomnia. Even with healthy individuals, many find they can take their lives to another level through learning and practicing conscious breathing.
Coleman’s sessions are weekly or daily and run either a half hour or an hour. He is available for teaching through FaceTime, Zoom and in person when possible.
