World Parkinson’s Day Celebration at Clover Stadium

Pomona, NY - April 11, 2024 - World Parkinson’s Day, observed annually on April 11th, serves as a poignant reminder of the global impact of Parkinson's disease. In recognition of this significant day, Parkinson’s organizations from over 80 countries are uniting for a special event -- join us, Parkinsons Wellness Project, at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Parkinson's disease is one of the fastest-growing neurological conditions affecting millions worldwide. This year's event aims to raise awareness and foster solidarity within the Parkinson’s community to combat the disease effectively."We're coming together to put Parkinson's disease in the past," says Ed Day, Rockland County Executive, emphasizing the collective effort required to address this pressing health concern.

The event will feature speakers including Michael Specht, Town of Ramapo Supervisor, and Aney Paul, Rockland County Legislator and Vice-Chair, who stresses the importance of standing up and speaking out to end the stigma surrounding Parkinson's disease. In a special tribute, the event will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the community, including Harriet Cornell, Former Rockland County Legislator (39 Years), and Michael Hoblin, Deputy County Executive.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the bloom of 5000 tulips, symbolizing hope and resilience within the Parkinson's community. Additionally, guests can participate in the dedication of bricks on the Path to a Cure in the Garden of Hope, a symbolic gesture of commitment to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease."We encourage everyone to join us in this meaningful event as we work towards a future free from Parkinson's," urges Aney Paul. For more information and to dedicate a brick on the Path to a Cure, please visit parkinsonswellnessproject.org
